WonderCon Tales
1st off let me say this is my 1st REAL geek post. So be warned.
1. One of my favourite parts of the day was seeing Joss Whedon and the cast of Firefly/Serenity. They were hilarious! Joss had all sortsa neat things to share such as Serenity footage and some info about Buffy movies and wether or not they're going to happen.
2. Kevin Smith. Need I say more? Yes, I shall. Kevin Smith has to be the funniest guy ever. After making the sign language chick say "cocksucker" he went off on Q & A. Most of the questions were the usual type of thing pre-empted by "I'm a HUGE fan!" I actually asked him about his conversations in the movies and how many of them stem from real conversation's he's had. The only one he said was from Clerks where they talk about Star Wars and the Death Star. Good Times.
3. The worst part of the day had to be the Star Wars "panel". Which wasn't a panel at all. They played the teaser Episode 3 trailer...ok. They played some of the video clips that are on the Star Wars site. Overall, I was disappointed by the fact that Lucas had the nerve to charge someone for this pile of shit attempt at getting people amped on Star Wars.
4. I also got to see 8 minutes of "Batman Begins." Christian Bale was way into this part and said he modeled the part after the Frank Miller comics. Director Christopher Nolan (Memento and Insomnia) also wanted this story to be the darker more comic driven version of the Dark Knight.
5. I also got to meet Elisha Cuthbert from my favorite TV show "24." Man, she's hot. Joel Silver was on Hand too because they were doing the movie "House Of Wax" which also stars Paris Hilton (who was reportedly sick).
All in all a $15 day well spent! Went to the Metrion then off to get lost in the city on my way to Adrian & D's club BLAH BLAH BLAH! for some hangout time with birthday boy Matt Hite from beatmixed.com. (He also plays there too!)
